you like to eat from your own garden? Christy Wilhelmi of Gardenerd
will teach you how at Ilan Dei Studio in Venice, California. Learn tricks and tips to growing a successful
organic vegetable garden in a small space, perfect for urban areas. Find
out more about what grows well in Southern California each season (and
issues in gardening near our ocean environment), and how to get the most
out of your garden with BioIntensive design methods, from information
about soil aspects to beneficial insecteries. Coverage will also include
gardening trends such as theme gardens and seasonal gardens. You'll
also discover some quick and easy recipes to enjoy from your own garden
harvest, then come back to our studio, Thursday, July 28th for more cooking tips with Lemonade
Executive Chef, Alan Jackson.
Christy Wilhelmi of Gardenerd is a board member of Ocean
View Farms Organic Community Garden in Mar Vista, California, and
gardens almost entirely with heirloom vegetables. Christy teaches
organic gardening classes throughout Los Angeles, at Santa Monica
College, and has co-taught an organic gardening workshop at the Esalen
Institute in Big Sur, CA. Her writing has appeared in Edible Los Angeles
